Personal stories of tauira (students) of Te Reo Māori

Airing time: Your choice, on-demand

Hear the personal stories of learning te reo as shared by tauira (students) of Te Reo Māori (L1&2) at Te Wānanga o Aotearoa, Ngāmotu Wharekura.

Introduced by Anne Dawson:

2021 is the year that I finally took the plunge and made a commitment to learn te reo Māori. I enrolled in the He Pī Ka Pao course at Te Wānanga o Aotearoa, Ngāmotu, which is Te Reo Māori levels 1 & 2.

As I have come to know many of my fellow students, I’ve recognised that we have all ended up at the same place, arrived at by many different paths.  Their stories are motivating and inspiring, and definitely worth sharing. So that is what we are doing in this radio show: sharing those te reo journeys and, who knows, maybe others will be motivated and inspired to start their journey after listening?

Thank you to Grove Roots for so freely giving permission for the use of their music, including the theme song Kia Ora Te Reo Māori
