Te Hau Maiangi: Past Episodes

The Bishop’s Action Foundation (BAF) and Access Radio Taranaki (ART) have collaborated to form a space of thought leadership and innovation for Taranaki.

Airing time: Your choice, on demand

the wind that fills the sail

Taranaki is on the cusp of being on the leading edge in emerging economies.  Traditional forms of revenue and practice within the region and beyond, are being challenged and threatened by new ways.  In their place we are seeing a growth in movements that focus on local economies, sustainable thinking, big data, social enterprise and climate change.

travelling together

The best way to adapt and lead is for those with something to say to tell their stories, their way.

The Bishop’s Action Foundation (BAF) and Access Radio Taranaki (ART) have collaborated to form a space of thought-leadership and innovation for Taranaki. This partnership brings together an online portal where community groups can access local, national and international innovators talking about their field of expertise and their stories of experience, land and culture.

Together we make accessible a wide spectrum of voices to ignite community inspiration, empowerment and action.

In 2019 we will continue to record voices from around Taranaki Mounga, to bring together a diverse range of information from and for grassroots organisations, to help shape the future of traditions relative to our region.

The names around the project were initiated through collaboration and korero. Three strands, or topics, run through each of the episodes:

Voices of ExperienceTe Hau Maiangi - literally meaning ‘the gentle breeze’, the kōrero (breeze) that is shared, without judgement, a willingness to share and listen.

Innovation: Te Hau Tupua - literally meaning ‘the extraordinary wind’.  The concept is that new ideas are developed by thinking outside of the norm.   Creating new ways of doing things with future focus in mind.

Community SustainabilityTe Hau Tawhito - literally meaning ‘the ancient wind’.  The concept is that social/human interaction brings about a meaningful existence.  This also includes environmental awareness and protection.

The ever-growing reservoir of thought leadership and creativity will uphold, resource and empower the Taranaki community as it makes the shift from the old ways to the new. BAF and ART are proud and excited to be working together to present this project.
